Who Is She?

Zakiya Monae is a claircognizant intuitive channel, and (future) LMT and acupuncturist. She is an alumni of Kaitlyn Graña’s Into the Veil 1 & 2 programs as well as their Opening Portals mentorship. Zakiya has been reading tarot for 4 years and is always seeking and open to new ideas and interpretations. They are based in Chicago, IL (unceded Potawatomi land) currently working towards a master’s in Acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Zakiya is a channel for guidance from realms of the unseen, not just of this planet, but from the many galaxies that surround all of us. They work to deliver these messages in a soothing digestible way.

Zakiya respects all spiritualities and religions. They personally work with their own spirit guides, well ancestors, and guardian angels. A daily ritual of prayer, meditation, and cleansing is how Zakiya maintains their own spiritual hygiene. Being grounded in oneself is an important element in the work they do.

Current offerings, as of now, are tarot by text ($15), 30 minute ($33+) and 60 minute ($60+) tarot readings. With these readings, Zakiya hopes to help clients tap into their higher self, truth, and to provide clarity where possible. Each session will begin and end with an elemental prayer — this helps both client and practitioner relax into the space. All clients are encouraged to take notes during the session and will receive a photo of their cards afterwards. In the future, body work (massage, cupping / gua sha / moxa, acupuncture) and herbal formulas will be offered. I accept some trades (ex: tattoos, tooth gems, ceramics) and a sliding scale system will be implemented in the future!

I have received a wealth of spiritual guidance from my mentor Kaitlyn Graña (@spiritgardentarot) and Liza (@CrowMother). Both of whom have helped me bridge the gap between my inner knowing and tangible rituals and practices that I now partake. Working with Kaitlyn has given me a better understanding of my gifts and what it means to be a responsible spiritual practitioner.

To my understanding, I come from a line of herbalists — healers in their own right. Although I do not have access to much information, every time I do this work I feel as though I am picking up where my ancestors left off. Because of that, everything I do is in their honor.

Thank you, I love you.
